Hard luck lads in U14 Final

U14 Final: we will follow at some stage soon with a full match report.
But basically the story is....
- we started with a blitz and Colm had rifled in two cracking goals in the first 5 mins.
- Mullagh settled into game and our backs played heroically in first half, typified by a wonder save by goalie Ciaran.
- Half-time: Kinvara 2-1, Mullagh 0-2.
- Early in the second half, we went through a bad ...spell! Mullagh got in for 3 goals in as many minutes. That rattled our lads, but they recomposed themselves and got back into the game.
- The hurling was fast, exciting and evenly matched as we tried to get back in it.
- Mullagh then scored their 4th goal.
- With 5 minutes remaining, we were seven points down, 4-5 to 2-4. Crucial point, as we either lie down and fight for it.
- We fought for it! Ger sent over a free, and then Colm scored his third goal.
- Tension was crazy. In the closing minutes, we had a goal harshly disallowed, had a crucial free turned against us on their 21, and a suspect save by them over the line! Drama!
- But it wasn't to be. Mullagh, in fairness, took a great win and full credit to them for their huge effort and defending in the second half.
- Tears and disappointment.................shortly later it was fun and craic on the way home on the bus!
