Hurling Coaching in Seamount

posted 18 Feb 2011, 04:59 by Unknown user
County Board Chairman Joe Byrne is delighted to announce a program of coaching for Seamount College, commencing next September.
With an expected inflow of young lads and hurlers from Kinvara, Ballindereen, NewQuay and Ardrahan parishes, this is exciting news for all those starting secondary school there later in the year.
Joe has met with Damien Coleman, Connacht Hurling Director in relation to this, and he is very supportive of this unique development. Indeed, Damien's wife Veronica( Curtin), is a past pupil and current Kinvara and Galway Camogie star.

Details on hand at present from Joe are:
Galway Hurling Coaching and Games will introduce, next Autumn, the Super Touch Programme as part of the “ Hurling into the Schools “ programme. The programme will run for a 20 week period, approx 1.5 hours per week, times to suit the PE schedule. It will also be an opportunity to participate in First Year blitz,s being organised and indeed First Year competitions.
I believe  this initiative will be of wonderful benefit, to in particular, Kinvara and Ballindereen GAA Clubs and will also assist to  promote the enrolment of boys in to Seamount.
Yours in Sport
Joe Byrne
Galway County Hurling Chairman
