2015 Intermediate Hurling League
in Kinvara 14th Feb.

Kinvara's first intermediate match since 1977 ended in an opening group defeat as the visitors Abbeyknockmoy triumphed by three points.

Kinvara, fielding without several key players including goalie Colm Callanan, mixed the good with the bad, with the honest efforts being overruled by the amount of errors made and frees conceded, which the opposiiton duly punished.

The sides were level at halftime on 0-9 to 0-9, but on the resumption it was Abbeyknockmoy who hurled the better and took their scores well. They built up a 5 point lead, but credit to Kinvara who replied and with 5 minutes left had the margin reduced to a single point. However, with a couple of nearest misses for goals for Kinvara, it was Abbeyknockmoy who finished the closing stages the stronger and two more points gave them the win.
