Junior C Hurling Championship
Weds 28th May, in Faiche Padraic, Kinvara 7pm

Kinvara's Junior Cs will make their championship start tomorrow evening in a home fixture against Athenry. This is our third year with a third adult side, with a revamped squad that includes some players regraded from Junior B last year, a few others making a "comeback", while the squad welcomes our newest batch of adult hurlers with a handful of young 17 year olds hoping to make the jump up from the juvenile grade.

Our opponents Athenry are always a strong side at any grade, and this Junior C side should be no different. This too is their 3rd adult team, and last year they were in the Junior B grade. We can expect them to have some well experienced players in the team, aswell as some very good u21 players. Last year may not have gone according to plan for this team, and we can be sure that the club will be out to make amends for that and to try get back up to the Junior B grade.

As tough an opener as you can get, this is probably the type of match that Kinvara need and although they have it all to do, they will leave no stone unturned to get a vital home win. Some players have made great committment this year, with six players working away, expected to make the midweek journey to the shores of the Atlantic. The management this year has Tommy Hanlon, Aidan Fahy, Frank Quinn and Michael Bermingham on the line, and that type of experience is vital at this grade.

At the moment we hear rumours of a management meeting as they try to pick a starting fifteen - that wont be easy as they have a strong 24 man squad to pick from.

See you all tomorrow in the pitch, where your support will be much appreciated. Home matches are the key in this campaign, and local support vital for that.
