Junior C Hurling Championship, Cruinniu Friday 8th Aug 2014

Kinvara Junior C's great comeback!

Kinvara 1-16, Kilnadeema-Leitrim 0-15

What a cracker of a game. Credit to both sides. Kinvara were behind 0-10 to 0-4 at halftime, although playing against the wind.
In the second half they all put the shoulder to the wheel and rallied back to score a great win. The key goal in the second half came from Deco Keane, and that drew Kinvara level at the time.
On another positive note, we welcomed back centreback John Kavanagh, only 8 weeks after his serious injury. Tremendous stuff John, and great committment.
That win now has us with 5 wins from 7 matches, with two away matches remaining against Liam Mellows and Portumna. A win in either should see us through, or at least a play-off.
Ye can now enjoy the Cruinniu lads!
One final note: huge thanks to everyone that came up and supported today. It was one of the largest home crowds in years, and was great to see. Also great to see manager Tommie Hanlon's sister Valerie and her young lad make it all the way from Italy to support us. Everyone makes the difference!
Kinvara team:
Conor Quinn, Mike O'Connor, Padraig Moylan, Aidan Fahy, Francis Comyn, John Kavanagh, Fintan Byrne, Shane Sullivan 0-3, Rory Quinn, John Donoghue 0-2, Anthony Byrne, Frankie Quinn 0-6, Declan Keane 1-2, Martin O'Connell 0-2, Mickey Kavanagh 0-1.
Subs came on were Dylan O'Hanrahan and Tommie Kavanagh. Other subs were Arthur Gordan, Aidan Kilkelly, Colie McGarry, Oisin Fahy and Jason Huban .
