Juvenile club trip to Leinster Final

posted 12 Jul 2012, 11:36 by Unknown user
Over 90 people travelled in two buses last Sunday to witness history in the making as Galway senior hurlers lifted the Bob O'Keeffe Cup for the first time ever.
Organised by the Kinvara juvenile club, there was a fine mix of young juveniles, older juveniles, parents and other supporters. We were also delighted to have club president Kevin Sexton join us. He came along with son Kevin jnr and grandson Ethan (a member of our U8 squad). Note: Kevin himself would have hurled minor for Galway in all of 60 years ago!
The youngest member of the touring party was young Conor Conole who will no doubt never forget this great trip.

A great days out was had by all and this was made all the sweeter as Galway steamrolled over Kilkenny to win the Leinster crown by 2-21 to 1-11. It might have drizzled for most of the opening half, but that did not quieten the shouts from our young juvenile members.

Indeed, it is not often we witness history, but I'm sure this day out will always stay with us, and we can always say we were there the day history was made.

Special thanks to all who joined us on the buses and behaved excellently!
Also, special thanks to our local Bus Eireann lads who helped organised the buses.
