Juvenile Meeting last night

posted 4 Feb 2011, 12:38 by Garret Byrne
Juvenile Officers Ger O'Connor, Ollie Bergin and Paddy Barry gave a detailed plan and structure for the juvenile hurling club for the coming year, in a meeting last night in Pier Head. In attendance were the above officers, along with Tommy Ivers, Donagh O'Shaughnessy, Enda Linnane, Garret Byrne, Michael Helebert, Barry O'Driscoll, Nicola Huban, Fintan Connors, Sean O'Hanrahan, Joe Keane and Michael Bermingham.
A full and detailed training structure was presented by Ollie that outlined the plan for the coming year, that included coaching plans and player assessment forms.
Treasurer Paddy Barry explained the plans for club membership day fixed for 12th March, which he hoped would be a great opportunity to showcase all things good about our club. One great initiative this year will be the giving of playing kits (shorts, socks, tops) to all juvenile members on registration.
Fundraising issues were discussed and it is hoped that all members, parents, kids will get involved to help the cause, as the cost of running the club gets more and more expensive, often due to inceased levies and insurance costs.
The Feile na Gael 2011 was also discussed as this will be a proud moment in the history of Kinvara GAA. We have only played in Feile four times before, as it was held in Galway in 1981, 1982, 1992 and 1993. Only a select approx 50 players in the history of Kinvara GAA have played Feile, and this years U14's are a lucky group. We will forward to that weekend at the end of June.
Further detailed training schedule for the year will be posted shortly so watch this space.
