Kinvara v Turloughmore
Pier Head Minor A Hurling Championship Quarter-final
Sunday 24th August 2014, in Clarinbridge 12noon.

Kinvara minor hurlers will have a mammoth task tomorrow as they face the hot championship favourites Turloughmore in this quarter-final tie.
These sides have met down through the years at U14 four years ago, U16 two years ago, and in both times Turloughmore won by quite large margins. They are also currently the reigning Minor A champions, having won the title last year, and they still have practically nearly all the side underage again this time around. They have many fine hurlers, including five players who played with the county minors last Sunday.
Kinvara had a strong group campaign, and only lost the one match out of six played. They beat Kilnadeema-Leitrim, Craughwell and Tommie Larkins, drew with Castlegar and Liam Mellows, while lost to Gort. That last defeat against Gort meant we finished the group in 4th, while a win in that match would have meant we finished in first place. Such are the margins in Minor A!
Our squad is quite well balanced, and although we have key players down the middle of the park, it is on the wings and corners that we are also strong, which is vital at this grade and level of hurling.
A few of the lads are carrying some injuries, and definitely out are Ronan Kilkelly and Joe Tully, while two more starters wont be 100%. The absence of Ronan will be a huge loss, and we wish him well with his knee injury. He worked hard all year to keep his injury at bay, but unfortunately it has finally caught up with him.
But whoever lines out for Kinvara tomorrow, you can be sure that they will give it their all and will battle to the end. The squad are confident in their ability, and it they click tomorrow then they have it within them to pull off a shock.
