Kinvara lose out on Senior Championship quarter-final slot

It was agonising close for Kinvara as they just got pipped by rivals Castlegar to reach this years SHC quarter-final.

Kinvara needed a win over Castlegar to advance, but despite a huge effort they just lost out as Castlegar finished the game with two late points to seal their narrow win. Indeed, both those late Cashel points could easily have been frees in for Kinvara, such was the margin of defeat. Indeed, the performance of the referee throughout the game left many supporters and spectators in disbelief.

So from our group, both Loughrea and Castlegar advance, and they now join Turloughmore, Ardrahan, St. Thomas', Portumna, Padraig Pearses and Beagh in the quarter-final draw.

Overall, well done and hard luck to manager Ollie Bergin, trainer Liam Donoghue (our favourite Clarinbridge person!), and the rest of the backroom team, and especially thanks to the squad of players who gave us all much enjoyment this year as they wore our club jerseys with such pride and passion.
