Kinvara U16s play Athenry

posted 17 Apr 2013, 14:54 by Unknown user
Weather permitting, Kinvara U16 hurlers will play Athenry tomorrow Thursday evening in this OCEAN HYGIENE U16 A1 Hurling Championship Round 2 match.

This will be Kinvara's first match, as last Thursday's Round 1 fixture against Ardrahan was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. Manager Pat Conole can call on a fully fit squad for this test, and he will need all players at their peak as we face Athenry. The lack of match experience as a team may be a disadvantage for the Kinvara lads, but that will hopefully not stop them from putting in the much needed performance, and a vital win.
This is Athenry's second match, as they lost last weekend to Kilconieron by 3-10 to 1-4. Kilconieron would be many favourites for this years title, and that match for Athenry with give them a chance to work on areas to improve on and give them the benefit of the match practice. Athenry are always strong in underage hurling and they will be aiming to bounce back with a win in this tie.

Match takes place in our pitch, Faiche Padraic, tmrw Thursday at 6.30pm throw in.
