Kinvara V Gort...U14 Hurling Brendan Linnane

Kinvara Juvenile Club will host their opening competitive match of the year when we play host to neighbours Gort in the Brendan Linnane Cup on this Sunday 6th march at 1pm.
This cup is a prestigious competition and every year all clubs in South Galway play in it. It is hosted by the Gort GAA club in memory of Brendan Linnane who died many years ago as a young man.
Kinvara have only won this cup once before and that was in 1984.

This year we are drawn in the first round of this straight knock-out against Division A side Gort. This will be a tough challenge for our lads, especially as its our first outing for the year. We have lost 11 lads from last years squad who reached the county final, however there is plenty more lads taking their places.  With a good strong squad, expect all lads to be vying for their place on the team, with no-one guaranteed their place. In fact, Manager Ollie Bergin as stressed that if any of the older lads are not putting in the effort, that they will be dropped and replaced by the younger lads.
So best of luck lads!

The squad is:
Ollie Nilan, Gary Kilkelly, Sean Linnane, Alan Keane, Patrick Whelan, Owen Whelan, Oisin Fahy, Thoms Fordham, John O'Donohue, James Cronin, Joe Tully, Liam Byrne, Mark Deegan, Keelin O'Rourke, Conor O'Shea, Patrick O'Gallachoir, Colm Keady-Tabbal, Neil Huban, Sean Cahill, Brendan Connolly, Gerard Linnane, Cathal O'Dwyer and Peter Mulleady.
