Its the dreaded relegation that no teams wishes to be in. Both teams were only a puck of a ball away from reaching the championship group stages, but now find themselves fighting to avoid the drop down to intermediate. In Round 2 of the championship, 14 man Kinvara almost got the better of Turloughmore only to lose by a single point, while Liam Mellows had a win over Gort in their grasp only to lose to a last minute goal. (Both Turlough and Gort both advanced to the last 8, with Gort already in the semi-finals). Its a fine line!

Kinvara will have gained some confidence from their second half performance in their last outing against Kiltormer, but their first 30 minutes of that match was not as impressive. Manager Ollie Bergin has a few concerns ahead of this one. Already we are missing the influential Tom O'Donovan, while his longterm injury list has not improved.
Liam Mellows had mixed results in their relegation group matches - they beat Padraig Pearses but lost to St. Thomas'. They will be tough opponents on Saturday - being a mixture of experienced current and former county stars, and also some younger players who carry county experience too. Their spine includes household names such as John Lee, David Collins, Tadhg Haran and Aonghus Callanan.

We can predict this is going to be tight, and can expect a hard battle with probably little between them at the final whistle.
