New Junior B Championship format

As it kicks off this coming weekend, this year sees a new format to the Junior B Hurling competitions.

Basically, gone is the league competition, and in is a new championship structure with more matches.

It works as follows:
- 24 teams
- 3 groups of 8 teams
- 7 group matches for each team
- top 4 teams in each group qualify for the championship knockout stages
- bottom 4 teams in each group qualify for the shield knockout stages
- Championship knockout stages: 4 preliminary quarters (8 teams)..........4 winners of those play in the quarter-finals.

Kinvara's group this year consists of the following:
 
Abbeyknockmoy: last year qualified from group (W3, L2) then lost Preliminary quarters
Salthill: last year topped group (W3, D1), then lost semi-final to eventual winners Ardrahan by 4 points
Sarsfields: last year topped group (W4, D1), then lost semi-final
Craughwell: last year did not qualify from group (W1, L2, D2)
Athenry: Promoted after winning Junior C
Kilconieron: last year did not qualify from group (W2, L2)
Clarinbridge: last year qualified from group (W3, L2) and lost Preliminary quarter to eventual winners Ardrahan by 1 point
