Senior hurlers lose opener

It was a tough day in the office in Loughrea yesterday as Kinvara met a flying Beagh side in this group opener in the Senior Championship.
Beagh won on a scoreline of 5-17 to 1-11. Things did not go well in the first half with four goals being conceded. Indeed Kinvara were losing 4-8 to 0-4 at one stage. Early in the second half Kinvara did pull it back to 4-10 to 1-10, but could not unfortunately add more badly needed goals. In the final ten minutes, Beagh outscored Kinvara by 1-7 to 0-1 to win quite comfortably.
Overall not a great result, however there was some good scores got by Kinvara, and they were kinda on top in the first 15 minutes of the second half. However the task was too much. Credit to the three lads on making their championship starting debut....Ger O'Dea, Mark Kavanagh and Sean Bermingham. Niall Bermingham also came on as sub for his debut.
The panel wont be happy with the result, but there is no doubting their committment. Next up is Craughwell who narrowly beat us by 1 point in the preliminary quarters last year. An improvement is needed and there is no doubt it is in them. Expect Kinvara to come out all guns next time out. Keep supporting them!
