CONNACHT TRIBUNE MATCH PREVIEW

"Loughrea manager, Enda McDonnell, said training has gone well since they overcame Liam Mellows and Craughwell in the earlier rounds, but he is wary of a Kinvara side that contains seasoned campaigners. Midfielder/wing back Emmet Mahoney (hamstring) is a major doubt. His cousin, Brian Mahoney (hand) has recovered, as has wing forward Johnnie O'Loughlin (finger), which strengthens the 2012 county finalists' hand. McDonnell said his charges must focus on increasing the intensity at this stage of the competition if they are to justify favouritism.

Kinvara, outside of their own camp, weren't expected to advance past Sarsfields in the previous rounds but that 2-13 to 1-15 success will provide another jolt of confidence as they seek to cause an upset. The shackles will be off for this one. Manager Ollie Bergin plans without long-term absentees Dara Smith, Ronan Kilkelly and Eanna Linnane, and doubt hang over the availability of Colm Burke (back) and Brian Carroll (leg). Ger Mahon is reportedly not 100% either.

Two seasons ago, Kinvara were right in the mix until Loughrea struck for two second half goals that killed the tie and swung it in their favour before the Town eventually ran out nine point winners. The scoreboard should be closer this time, but with the same result.

Verdict: Loughrea
Last meeting: 2011 (group), Loughrea 2-18, Kinvara 2-9
Match odds: Loughrea 4/11, draw 9/1, Kinvara 5/2
