U14 County Feile Toddie Byrne Cup

posted 21 Feb 2011, 14:26 by Unknown user
The draws have been recently made for the Galway County Feile Competition for U14 hurling. This is a separate competition to the County Championship, and the All-Ireland Feile. All clubs in Galway are playing in the Feile finals this year by virtue of the fact that it is held in Galway. However, the county board are also holding the normal knock-out county Feile Competition.

This year Kinvara have been drawn against the winners of Mountbellew/Moylough versus Moycullen. Both these clubs are in division C, but will pose tough opposition. Mountbellew/Moylough will be hoping to repeat last years great run in the competition, where they beat B sides Oranmore-Maree and Ahascragh-Fohenagh, before losing to Ardrahan in the county quarter-final.
Moycullen are always a tough opposition and have given Kinvara underage some very close games in the recent years.

Manager Ollie Bergin will have to have his troops in flying form for this tie.
Game is provisionally fixed for Saturday 26th March.

Another important aspect for Kinvara in this competition is that the cup on offer is The Toddie Byrne Cup, so all the more reason to go out and try and win it!
