Kinvara young footballers with play in their Divisional Shield Final tomorrow in Duggan Park, and in the process aim to win our first Juvenile Football final since 1988. Back then 26 years ago, a spirited Kinvara side upset the odds by beating Lettermore in the C Championship Final in Pearse Stadium, and were managed by current Juvenile Club President Michael O'Sullivan.

Tomorrows final see's Kinvara face St. Gabriels from the Kilrickle side of the county. The two sides have already met this year in the group stages, in a match in which St. Gabriels won comfortably on a scoreline of 4-10 to 1-2. Granted, Kinvara weren't at their best that day, but it does show the huge challenge ahead to them tomorrow.
Since that game, Kinvara had a great win over Clarinbridge, and while we lost in the play-off to Craughwell, we can still feel that if the boys perform that we can really give St. Gabriels a match.

St. Gabriels had to battle hard to beat Claregalway in their play-off, and will be looking to win this final especially as its being played next door to them in Ballinasloe. They will probably have a large support there, so we ask all to please try come along and support the boys from South Galway and hopefully we'll be victorious returning to Kinvara on Sunday afternoon.
