Friday 31st May, in Kilbeacanty.

Kinvara Junior C's championship started with this tough meeting with a lively Kilbeacanty side who had this match pretty much wrapped up by half-time.
By that stage they lead by Kilbeacanty 2-13, Kinvara 0-1, after playing some lovely hurling and taking their scores well.

In the second half, Kinvara upped their game and actually managed to outscore their opponents by 3-5 to 2-6, assisted by some great defending and the three goals scored by Shane O'Sullivan, Fintan Byrne and sub Tommie Kavanagh.

In fairness to Kinvara, this turned out to be a good exercise against the Kilbeacanty's club second outfit. They had plenty players who would be more at home at a higher grade and even on their Intermediate team. Once they made a few substitutions themselves in the second half then this match became more of a contest.
Joint Kinvara managers Tommie Hanlon and Aidan Fahy will be quitely pleased with the overall show and with the battling spirit in the second half......."a lot done, more to do!"
On a final note, it was good to welcome two young lads to the adult fold, with both 16 year olds Tommmie Kavanagh and Dara Whelan making their debuts.
