Kinvara 3-6 v Liam Mellows 0-9
Kinvara U14 hurlers had a great win in their opening game of this years U14 B Hurling Championship played in Ballyloughane this evening.
The game started close with very little between the sides. However two goals by Kinvara before the break proved the main difference between the sides. Liam Mellows needed a goal or two to claw themselves back into the game, but the Kinvara fullback line were tight out. Indeed it was a new look fullback line with regular fullback John O'Donoghue joined by Alan Keane and Cathal O'Dwyer. Both corner backs did very well and gave very little away. Out the field, Patrick Whelan worked very hard and played a lot of ball. Actually all over the field the performance was much improved compared to last weeks games versus Mullagh and then Loughrea.
A great way to bounce back from a heavy defeat last Friday!
