Kinvara U14s travelled to Cappagh Road for this U14B Hurling Championship Round 3 match, and after taking the lead at half-time, were given a lesson in the second half by a rejuvenated home side. It was a disappointing performance by the Kinvara side in the second half, with very few players coming out on top. Credit to the Salthill side, who came out for the second half all fired up and played some lovely hurling and took some fine scores.

Kinvara, with advantage of the breeze in the first half, led by 1-3 to 0-3 at the interval, but their game completely collapsed on the resumption. By the 5th minute of the second half, the home side had levelled and at that stage were very much on top. Salthill continued their fine scoring in the second half and ran out very easy winners in the end.

Credit to Salthill for their second half performance, and if they can repeat that, they will be hard beat in their remaining matches.
For Kinvara, it was their second defeat on the trot, but the performance this time around was well below par. A greater display is needed by some of the older players who, at times, dont appear to realise that they are playing championship hurling.

Next up for Kinvara is the Feile weekend on 5-6 April, with a further 4 group matches to follow.
