U14 B Hurling Championship
Kilconieron 3-6 v Kinvara 1-4

A strong second half performance against the wind by Kilconieron proved too much for Kinvara under 14 hurlers last Monday morning in Kilconieron.
After holding them to a halftime lead of 1-3 to 0-1, things looked promising for Kinvara with the wind behind them in the second half. But a better disciplined and mannered Kilconieron proved the difference and Kinvara fell apart in the second. Our lads lost their shape and some lads began moving out of their positions. Very few of them could be happy with their performance, and must realise that they must improve on discipline in all aspects in order to qualify out of the group.
Kilconieron sole goal in the first half, came directly from a 65, as goalie Oisin Fahy must be disappointed for his backs to allow the ball to take the bounce in front of him.
At halftime Kinvara were losing 1-3 to 0-1, after playing well against the strong wind. However things did not go according to plan in the second. A goal by Kilconieron immediately on the restart broke the Kinvara spirit and our lads heads began to drop. We did get a few scores but it was not enough and Kilconieron to their credit, matched them everytime.
This was a disappointing performance by Kinvara, where their attitude and discipline failed them.
