U14 B Shield Semi-final
Mon 13th May, in Oranmore.

Kinvara 4-7, Oranmore-Maree 4-4

Story is we actually had wind in first half. Missed a few early scores, but got them in the second quarter and led 3-5 to 0-2 at the break.
Oranmore came back, as they do, and brought it back to 2 points. We rallied and when normally a team sees a 12 point lead evaporate they someitmes drop the heads - our lads instead decided that this was their time and their game. To a man, or boy in this instance, they fought for every ball and managed to score 1-1. The home side rallied back and nipped another goal.
The last few minutes was frantic stuff as we defended and they attacked. I'm hearing stories of our lads blocking shots with everything they had - hurls, helmets, arms, you name it. Goalie Ciaran Donohue made a point blank save - he stopped the ball dead, controlled it and cleared it. They were all at it. They got a 21 at the end, and our lads threw themselves in front of it and blocked it. Heroic stuff.
Final whistle went.
It took a while for the heart to get back its normal rhythm!
What a bunch of lads.
The squad today was:
