U14C Hurling Championship
Sat 15th March, in Kinvara's Faiche Phadraig.

Kinvara U14 hurlers opened the clubs championship account for the year 2014 with an impressive win over the visitors from Michael Breathnach.
Kinvara proved stronger throughout the field, and it was their solid first half performance that paved the way for this win. A combination of strong defending and some fine point taking were the basis of their opening half, and led to Kinvara going in at the break in the lead by 2-10 to 0-0.
Michael Breathnach to their credit took the game more to Kinvara on the resumption, and troubled the home side on many occasions. There were unlucky not to have scored several times, when if they did manage to breach the defence, they then faced a solid goalkeeper.
So, a solid opener for Kinvara, but there will be tougher tests ahead, and the players themselves know that a much bigger effort and committment will be required to get past those teams.

Kinvara players on the day were:
Ciaran Donohue, Simon Whelan, Conail Larrissey, Patrick Byrne, David Whelan, Ruairi McSweeney, Thomas Connolly, Dara Helebert, Jake Comyn, Dean Ivers, Benny Linnane, Michael Corless, Joey Droney, Bary Britton, Karim Mullery, Darren Kilkelly and Donal Keely.
