Michael Cusacks 5-9.......Kinvara 0-11

Kinvara's comeback to the U21 grade started earlier today with this challenge against neighbours Michael Cusacks, played in Kilbeacanty. Cusacks would be rated as a lively side in this years U21B, and so this very young Kinvara side had it all to do.

The first half was keenly contested, with Kinvara 6 points in arrears at the interval after playing against the wind. At the end, Cusacks ran out winners by 13 points, thanks to a savlo of 3 goals in quick succession in the second half.

This match proved a much useful exercise for manager John Linnane & Co. as Kinvara have a young side in this grade this year, with only 2 of the starting 15 being overage for next year, with another only 1 player being overage for the following year. Therefore, 12 of the starting 15 are eligible still to play U21 in 2015! In saying all that, the aim this year will still be to compete and there is no doubt that these lads will do their very best to fulfill that duty.

First round of Championship is against Portumna, with that match possibly on next weekend.

Kinvara team was:
Daragh Kilkelly, Keelan Murphy, David Burke, Stephen Bermingham, Shane Byrne, Tadhg Reynolds, James O'Hara, Caolan MacMahon, Niall Bermingham, Dylan O'Hanrahan, Nessan O'Hanrahan, Ronan Kilkelly, Conor Whelan, Philip McNamara, Paddy Reid.
Subs (who all came on): Keith Naughton, Dara Flaherty and Thomas Kavanagh.
